Yesterday I met up with four of my friends to hike up Bells Canyon to the waterfall. It's about a four mile trek, which isn't long however given the snow packed and steep trail it was a bit tricky coming down, we may as well have had ice skates. Maybe I should find a normal tradition for December 23 like say going to lunch.
In the beginning there were four, plus the guy behind the camera. Note: everyone is still happy at this point and no one has fallen yet.
My friend Tom(the pilot one) is training for a 23,000 foot climb he'll be doing in Argentina in 10 days so he had 50 lbs of cement mix in his pack, I tried to convince him to pack 50 lbs worth of hot cider and warm bagels but there was no convincing him.
That's my friend and fellow crazy vegan Alex surveying the trail.
Opposing views, one looking east up Bells Canyon, the other to the west and the Salt Lake Valley.
Snow shoes could have come in handy.
That is the Great Salt Lake in the background.
We left the trailhead around 9:20 and didn't get any sun until we were almost down to the bottom.
Almost at the bottom, posing for a photo before the mutiny.
Jason and Dustin following the nut with the camera(moi). Was there really a better way to spend Christmas Eve Eve?
December 23rd is known as Festivus
ReplyDeleteFestivus! I need to get up on my Seinfeld trivia.
