Millcreek Canyon run on a cold December day.

my friend tom and i have been going running together once a week for the past two months.  despite the cold temperatures and the inversion which seems to never want to dissipate we headed up millcreek canyon.  it was about a 10 miler round trip, half of it of course being nasty climbs, thank goodness my lungs are finally acclimated to the altitude here along the wasatch mountains.

i suppose tom would have just assumed i didn't bring my camera, too bad for him.

not easy to take pictures with your gloves on whilst running.  i really do wish i could work "whilst" into my everyday vocabulary.

up through the neighborhood and into the canyon.

i wasn't in pain, i did really have to go to the bathroom though.

why i'm ok not living in brooklyn any longer(please see above photograph).

this was a little more than four miles from our starting point, across the street is log haven, great for wedding receptions and party's according to their advertising.

tom was a work horse, we didn't stop once going up, just kept climbing, but after all tom is a pilot by occupation so he's well accustomed to high elevation gains, aren't you tom?  anyway this is where they close off the road, from here up would be ideal for XC skiing, they don't open it till july 4.  beyond here the canyon road probably goes up another 5 miles.

for some odd reason tom doesn't like posing for photos with sweaty men in spandex, odd isn't it?
leave we did, thank you for having us US park service.  why should crap weather prevent you from getting out?
