I came across these pictures from a trip my grandma & grandpa took in May of 1977 to St. Louis. Possibly one of the very few times my grandpa actually got on a plane, hard to believe because he looks so relaxed & regal.
The Mississippi River & my grandpa looking smooth, runs in the family.
Grandma is a classy dame.
Grandma getting some shots for her facebook page.
The ol' archie arch & some pretty young girl that is surely now a much older pretty girl.

Margaret if you see these pictures please don't be mad at me, they were just too lovely to not share, & ps the house is still in one piece.
I agree -- these pictures are too precious not to share! I so miss him. My dad just loved Ardo and I admit, he scared the hell out of me, but I loved him, too. That is fabulous picture of him on the plane. I never saw that quiet side of him. He was always grinning from ear to ear feeding us something from his garden or regaling us with a jokes -- he was a great entertainer.
ReplyDeletehe could be a scary guy but we did love his stories and his whit. he is missed.
ReplyDeleteHis humour was top notch! You must be going through old photo books. How fun!
