thrift store resuscitation

upon hearing about a thrift store dedicated to building materials i promptly went down to the habitat for humanity store here in SLC and found this gem. she needed some minor repairs done and with an idea to paint everything but the drawers white it gave it a great new look.

before, if you couldn't tell...

this was the almost finished product with the disassembled legs in the background.  i believe i had to paint it four times to get it a nice white gloss.   a much needed facelift, no?

Here's some updated pictures, including some great thrift store finds to decorate the shelf, nothing like a world globe that has the USSR & I must say I fancy the Lord Street picture.

  1. This new blog is pretty boss. You and I truly are kindred. I have loads of this kind of thing at our place. I found an old table leaf in our basement, and used the frame of an old, oval, vanity mirror as legs to make a coffee table. It turned out pretty rad. I'll have to send you some fotos of the table.

  2. yes logan i believe we are kindred spirits. now that i have a car and a shop i can work in i plan on making stuff or fixing up stuff like this, it's great to repurpose items that seem to be of no value. i'd love to see that table.
